ISWIM PRESIDENT’S WELCOME
I am pleased to announce that the 10th International Conference on Weigh- In-Motion (ICWIM10) will be held in the beautiful city of Ljubljana in Slovenia. The International Society for Weigh-In-Motion (ISWIM) and the Heavy Vehicle Transport Technology Forum (HVTT) have partnered again, for the third time, to hold a joint
international conference. The conference will feature sharing of different ideas, experiences, and the latest technologies to address many challenges we face today in the transportation industry.
I invite you to participate in the joint ICWIM10/HVTT19 conference. You will be among worldwide experts in the areas of WIM and heavy vehicle technologies. The theme for the conference is Moving Forward Together – Connecting Heavy Vehicles and Weigh-In-Motion. The theme speaks to the continued collaboration between the two associations and focuses on improving the science behind connecting and weighing vehicles in motion. I encourage you to submit a paper for the conference and share your work and knowledge.
The countless volunteer hours by the joint organizing and technical committees, in planning the conference and developing the excellent paper topics, is commendable.
I look forward to welcoming you to Ljubljana in May 2027.

President of ISWIM

HVTT PRESIDENTS WELCOME

I am delighted to announce the details of the 19th International Symposium on Heavy Vehicle Transport & Technology (HVTT19), which will take place in Slovenia in May 2027. Building on the success of HVTT17 in 2023 — held jointly with the International Society for Weigh-In-Motion (ISWIM) in Brisbane, Australia — we are once again partnering with ISWIM to jointly host HVTT19 with the 10th International Conference on Weigh-In-Motion (ICWIM10).
It’s fitting, therefore, that the theme of the joint HVTT19/ICWIM10 symposium is Moving Forward Together: Connecting Heavy Vehicles and Weigh-In-Motion. The theme reflects the shared interests of the HVTT Forum and ISWIM: to advance global research and best practice to optimise the relationship between heavy vehicles and road infrastructure by using innovative technologies to achieve greater productivity, efficiency, and sustainability.
In a world shaped by rapid economic, technological, and policy change, Moving Forward Together highlights the critical need to bring together thought leaders, researchers, and practitioners from diverse fields to share their research, experiences and insights. This year also marks the 40th anniversary of the HVTT Forum — a milestone that reminds us how symposia themes and topics have continually evolved in response to emerging challenges and opportunities over four decades.
I am confident that, with your participation, the joint HVTT19/ICWIM10 symposium will deliver a strong program of scientific papers, technical presentations, and discussions that helps us to move forward together by better connecting heavy vehicles and weigh-in-motion. Just as importantly, it will provide a setting to build new relationships and strengthen existing ones.
I look forward to welcoming you to Slovenia in May 2027!
Gavin Hill
President
Heavy Vehicle Transport & Technology (HVTT) Forum
