Overview
Cestel is a Slovenian producer of portable bridge weigh-in-motion systems. Since 1999, when their flaghsip bridge WIM system SiWIM was commercially launched, the company has performed over 5000 weigh-in-motion measurements worldwide. Cestel is also involved in traffic analysis and structural health monitoring of bridges.
Products
The SiWIM bridge weigh-in-motion system is a portable weigh-in-motion system that serves a dual function: like a conventional WIM system, it collects data on heavy goods vehicles while simultaneously also gathering information on the structure of the bridge.
The Structural Bridge WIM Diagnostics System is the first structural health monitoring system that combines the data from a bridge WIM system with structural health monitoring sensors, giving the users a plethora of real-time data on the structure of the bridge.
Applications
Depending on the length of the measurement, the number of sensors and the additional equipment used, collected data can be used for:
- Road maintenance;
- Road planning;
- Preselection for enforcement;
- WIM data distribution;
- Calculation of damage to the pavement;
- Supervision of dangerous goods transport;
- Planning special transport routes;
- Bridge assessment;
- Bridge monitoring.
